[DOWNLOAD PRINTABLE VERSION HERE]
General Rules
2008 Race Schedule and Rules are binding and cannot be altered or changed at any
time during the racing season.
All Texas Shootout and Club Races will be run under the current QMA rulebook and
Region 6 Racing Rules with the latest rule clarifications. Any dispute not
covered in the rulebook and clarifications will be reviewed and ruled upon by
LSQMA and RCQMA Race Officials (Race Director, Tech Director, Safety Director,
Head of Tower) as directed by the LSQMA and RCQMA club presidents.
Any car and driver found to be illegal under Tech/Safety inspection or
car/driver weight requirements will result in his/her driver being disqualified
and loss of all points earned for that race event, including participation
points.
Any question, concerns, or complaints during a race event should be addressed to
the RACE DIRECTOR ONLY.
It is recommended that the host track composes and post a daily schedule for the
event. This can be a repetitive schedule from week to week but will be a guide
line for the race day.
Cancellations/Make Ups
There will be no make up races for rainouts or bad weather cancellations.
Drivers registered for a race event will recieve participation points and
whatever points have been accumulated for completed segments of that race event
before the cancellation occurs. These points will determine the winner of the
day for distribution of trophies but will not count as points for year-end
total.
Example: If qualifying has been completed and the heat races have begun (but
not completed), the driver will recieve participation and qualifying points
only.
A weather cancellation does NOT count as a drop. Weather cancellation consists
of any incomplete portion of a race day. Ex. If qualifying and heat are run but
mains are canceled then entire day will be marked as a weather cancellation.
Number of Events
There will be a total of 10 events in the 2008 Texas Shootout Championship. An
event is comprised of qualifying, heat and main races conducted for a full range
of classes in a single day.
All points from the top 9 events will count toward year-end awards. The lowest
scored race will be dropped from the year-end total. If a driver misses a race
and does not pay entry fee that then the race can count as the drivers lowest
scored race and will be dropped.
